Charlie Gehringer had 2 base hits at Royal Oaks Ballpark as the Colorado 14ers
beat the Michigan Timbers in 11 innings 6 to 5.
Both teams were tied at 5 runs apiece after nine innings. Colorado came out
on top in the 11th inning. Johnny Neun ripped a one-base hit, and an error
was also committed. Bobby Robinson next to the plate and he laid down a
sacrifice bunt. Ike Eichrodt then worked the squeeze play to perfection
scoring the run. Despite losing, Michigan out-hit Colorado 15 to 12.
Zip Campbell(12-6) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 2 innings. Ben
Cantwell recorded his 1st save. Harry Salmon(15-10) was the losing pitcher
in relief. He allowed 1 run and 2 hits in 1 and 2/3 innings.
