In a tight game it was the Bumpass BS 3, the Minnesota Loons 1 at The
GAS.
Bumpass tallied 2 runs in the 4th inning with the help of 4 hits. Johnny Gill
started the inning off right when he laced a one-base hit. Chuck Corgan was
next and he hit a single. Cristobal Torriente then stroked a single to load
the bases. Lu Blue came up and he hit a sacrifice fly which scored a run.
Candy Jim Taylor came to the plate and doubled scoring the final run of the
inning. Both teams' bats went to sleep after the 4th inning with no runs
scored after that point.
Ted Lyons(23-12) went 4 and 1/3 innings allowing no runs for the win. Charles
Craig recorded the save, his 12th. The losing pitcher was Dazzy
Vance(10-16). He got hit hard, allowing 11 hits and 3 walks in 8 innings.
