TEAM RISP- Bichipoos: 8 for 18 Royalty: 0 for 3
David Segui smashed 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI and Darren Oliver allowed 3 hits
while blanking Cincinnati as the Pittsburgh Bichipoos clobbered the
outmatched Cincinnati Royalty, 17 to 0.
Segui provided much of the offense. He lined a single in the 1st inning,
delivered a solo blast in the 3rd inning, doubled in the 4th inning and
blasted a two-run home run in the 5th inning. Pittsburgh provided plenty of
action in the 1st inning which saw them score 4 runs on 4 hits and the 5th
inning when they had 5 runs on 3 hits. Offensively, Pittsburgh was a
juggernaut. They scored in 6 separate innings.
Oliver(8-10) was credited with the shutout, his first of the year. Pat
Hentgen(8-14) ended up with the loss. His ERA ballooned from 4.26 to 4.68 as
he allowed 14 runs in 5 innings.
'Oliver pitched a gem of a game', John O'Neal recounted. 'He kept our batters
off balance the entire game.'
