In a good matchup it was the Hibbing Dylans 7, the Providence Red Pandas 5 in
11 innings at Corruption Park.
The score was knotted at 4 after nine innings. Hibbing came out on top in the
11th inning. After an out was recorded, Hal Jeffcoat keyed the rally when he
hit a single. Cherokee Davis was next and he reached on an error. Rafaelito
Ortiz then let one get away for a wild pitch. Leon Kellman came up and he
laced a one-base hit which was good for two runs. Kellman took second on the
throw. One out later, Johnny Groth stepped in and he smacked a single
scoring the final run of the inning. Hibbing banged out 11 hits on the
afternoon.
The winning pitcher was Max Manning(17-6) who allowed 1 run in 1 and 2/3
innings. Harry Rhodes earned his 1st save. Ortiz(0-1) was the loser in
