At Bright Health Park, the Colorado fans witnessed a great pitcher's duel.
Joe Genewich(10-12) finally bested his Savannah opposite, Lefty Grove(13-16),
by the score of 2 to 0.
Colorado tallied 2 runs in the bottom of the 3rd inning when they had 5 base
hits. Johnny Neun started the inning off right when he laced a base-hit.
After an out was recorded, Chaney White came up and he doubled. Riggs
Stephenson then doubled scoring a single run. Grove then unleashed a wild
pitch. Wally Schang stepped into the box and lined a one-base hit scoring
the final run of the inning. That was all Genewich needed. Neither team
managed to score after the 3rd inning.
Zip Campbell earned the save, his 16th. Grove ended up with the loss. He
gave up 2 runs and 8 hits in 7 innings.
