Jerry Augustine didn't allow a hit until the 6th inning at Bright Health Park
as the Gallifrey Time Lords beat the Colorado 14ers by the count of 1 to
0.
Augustine(8-14) was solid in the win. He didn't give up much, just 1 hit and
3 walks in 7 innings lowering his ERA from 5.05 to 4.83. The left-handed
Augustine lost his no-hit bid when Gene Clines singled with one out in the
6th inning. Colorado made it exciting in the 9th, but they were unable to
push the needed runs across.
Augustine got help from Enrique Romo who earned his 18th save. Grant
Jackson(3-3) was the losing pitcher in relief. He pitched 2 innings giving
up 3 hits and 3 walks.
'Just one or two mistakes were all it took to beat us today' David Kufkafka
said. 'We take these games one day at a time, but this one was hard to
take.'
