At The Rum Cellar the Michigan Timbers tallied 6 runs in the 2nd inning and
outdistanced the Savannah Rumrunners by a final score of 9 to 5.
Crush Holloway provided much of the offense. He depressed the partisan
hometown fans with a grand slam home run in the 2nd inning and lashed a
single in the 5th inning. Michigan had a total of 12 hits for the game.
Milt Gaston(8-13) allowed 4 runs in 5 innings, and picked up the victory.
Gaston was helped out by Wilcy Moore who recorded his 13th save. Ken
Holloway(6-12) took the loss. He was knocked around by Michigan, allowing 7
hits and 5 walks in 4 innings.
