One run was the difference at LA Wrigley Field as the Minnesota Loons defeated
the Sterling Silver Sluggers 2 to 1.

Jim Kaat(14-12) pitched in relief and was credited with the victory.  He
allowed 2 hits and 1 walk in 2 and 2/3 innings.  The pitchers took over after
the 4th inning as neither team was able to score again.  

Kaat got relief help from Warren Hacker who gained credit for his 5th save.
Curt Simmons(7-10) was the losing pitcher.  He pitched 9 innings and
surrendered 6 hits and 2 walks.
