Mickey Vernon hit one over the fence and had 4 RBI at The Carousel as the
Sterling Silver Sluggers, running on all cylinders, ripped the Tenth Avenue
Freezeouts by a large 15 to 1 margin.

Vernon provided the offensive punch. He hit a single which brought home a run
in the 3rd inning and belted a three-run homer in the 7th inning.  Sterling
provided plenty of action in the 3rd inning which saw them plate 10 runs on 7
hits.  Sterling out-hit Tenth Avenue for the game, 18 hits to 5.  

The win went to Fred Hutchinson(10-11) who allowed 1 run in 8 and 2/3 innings.
Hal Newhouser(14-15) was given the loss.  He was hit hard and gave up 8 hits
and 3 walks in 2 and 1/3 innings.
