Phil Cavarretta had 2 base hits at The TARDIS where the Cincinnati Royalty
beat the Gallifrey Time Lords in 10 innings 5 to 3.
The game was deadlocked at 3 after nine full innings. Finally, Cincinnati
prevailed in the 10th inning. After two outs Larry Doby began the Cincinnati
spurt when he drew a walk. Willard Marshall was next and he drew a walk.
Ray Dandridge then drew a walk to load the bases. Floyd Baker followed and
he delivered a single driving home two runs. Although they lost, Gallifrey
did out-hit Cincinnati 13 to 5.
The victory went to Satchel Paige(8-3) who went 1 and 1/3 innings, allowing no
runs. No Hit Smith preserved the game for Paige, recording his his 4th save.
Doyle Lade(4-3) suffered the loss in relief.
