Billy Johnson blasted 3 homeruns and Hank Borowy threw a 3 hit shutout as the
Providence Red Pandas defeated the Pinch Quicks 9 to 0 at The Coal
Bowl.
Johnson was in a groove all day. The Pinch fans hated to see him approaching
the batter's box. He smashed a solo-shot out of the park in the 1st inning,
blasted a two-run home run in the 5th inning and caught a hold of a bad pitch
for a Grand Slam homerun in the 7th inning. Providence finished with 10 hits
in the victory.
Borowy(11-6) was credited with the shutout, his first of the year. Ted
Gray(7-9) was the loser. 'Actually, I didn't feel that comfortable at the
plate today' Johnson said after the game. 'Despite that, I'm happy with the
results!
