In a good matchup it was the Denver Dingers 9, the St Paul Saints 6 at Wrigley
Field.
Denver erupted with the game winning runs in the 8th inning when they came up
with 4 runs on 4 hits. The biggest moment was provided by Sam Chapman who
quieted the crowd when he launched a three-run homer. Due to a poorly
pitched ballgame, scoring in 5 different innings was still not enough for St
Paul to come away with the victory.
The win went to Toots Ferrell(5-3) who allowed 1 run in 3 innings. Ferrell was
helped out by Dizzy Trout who recorded his 22nd save. Tom Ferrick(4-2) was
the loser in relief. He was knocked around, surrendering 5 runs in 2
innings.
