Catcher Aaron Robinson hit one over the fence as the Pinch Quicks bested the
Pittsburgh Bichipoos in 11 innings 6 to 4 at The Coal Bowl.
The score was knotted at 4 after nine innings. Pinch won the hard fought
contest in the 11th inning. After two were out Andy Pafko initiated the
scoring spurt when he drew a walk. Gene Collins stepped up to the plate and
he bombed a two-run dinger giving Pinch the win much to the delight of the
home town crowd. Pinch had a total of 11 hits for the game.
Roberto Vargas(3-4) got credit for the victory, pitching 2 innings and
allowing no runs. Al Benton(5-7) was charged with the loss in relief. He
allowed Pinch 3 runs in 2 and 2/3 innings of work.
