Bob Harvey had 3 base hits as the Minnesota Loons defeated the Bristol
Blasters 6 to 2 at Blaster Field.
Minnesota erupted with the game winning runs in the 8th inning with 3 runs
using 3 hits. Lyman Bostock led off the inning for Minnesota when he drew a
walk. Harvey followed and he laced a base-hit. Willard Brown then doubled
scoring a single run. Eddie Robinson was next to bat, but he was a strikeout
victim. Ed Finney came up to bat and hit a deep fly plating one more runner.
Del Rice kept the rally going and tripled scoring the final run of the
inning. Minnesota managed 10 hits in their victory.
Larry Jansen(6-7) was the winner allowing 1 run in 7 innings. Johnny Antonelli
got the save, his 5th. Ralph Branca(0-4) suffered the loss. He gave up 3
runs and 7 hits in 7 and 2/3 innings.
