Dave Parker jacked one out of the ballyard and had 3 RBI at Lowell George Park
as the The Little Feat won in dramatic fashion coming back to beat the
Savannah Rumrunners by the count of 6 to 5.
The Little had the winning rally in the bottom of the 9th inning plating 3
runs on 3 hits. Keith Hernandez got things going when he delivered a solo
blast. Ted Sizemore was next and he slapped a single. One out later, Bill
Campbell then laid down a sacrifice bunt. Bill Almon stepped in and he
reached on an error. Parker stepped into the box and doubled giving The
Little the win as 34,764 happy fans joyfully celebrated. Both teams finished
the game with 12 hits.
The win went to Campbell(3-4) who allowed no runs in 2/3 of an inning. Sparky
Lyle(2-4) was given the loss in relief. He allowed 1 run and no hits in 2/3
of an inning.
'We just wouldn't give up,' Parker said. 'Much of the credit goes to our fans
- they were with us the whole way.'
