The sizzling Minnesota Loons and the Pittsburgh Bichipoos locked up in an
exciting one-run game at The Couch. The final score was the sizzling
Minnesota Loons 2, the Pittsburgh Bichipoos 1.
The game was decided in the 9th inning. After an out was recorded, Dave
Concepcion doubled. Lyman Bostock stepped up to the plate and he was hit by
a pitch. One out later, Wayne Gross then hit a single scoring the run.
Gross took second on the throw. Jerry Koosman(11-9) got help from Steve
Foucault who pitched a perfect ninth and was credited with his 20th save.
The losing pitcher was John Hiller(7-8) in relief. He allowed 1 run and 1 hit
in 1 inning.
