TEAM RISP- Jackals: 1 for 5 Silver Sluggers: 0 for 5
Bob Apodaca had a strong outing and Jeff Burroughs touched them all and had 2
RBI as the New Jersey Jackals defeated the Sterling Silver Sluggers in 11
innings by the score of 5 to 4 at Yanker Stadium.
The score was tied at 3 after nine. Finally, New Jersey pulled the game out
in the 11th inning. Ed Kirkpatrick opened up the inning nicely when he
stroked a one-base hit. George Brett followed and he lifted one out of the
park for a two run home run. Neither team was able to score until the 6th
inning.
The victory went to Tom House(6-2) who went 2 innings, allowing 1 run. Randy
Moffitt gained credit for his 6th save. Skip Lockwood(1-4) was charged with
the loss in relief. He allowed 5 hits and no walks in 3 innings.
