Second baseman Fresco Thompson had 2 base hits at The Palace where the
Minnesota Loons beat the Cincinatti Royalty 1 to 0.
The deciding run was scored by Minnesota in the top of the 8th. Cy Perkins
drew a walk. Rube Lutzke followed next and he laid down a sacrifice bunt.
After another out, Thompson then doubled scoring the run. Cincinatti
threatened in the 9th but Minnesota was able to put down the rally.
The winning pitcher was Sam Gibson(6-2) who allowed no runs in 7 innings.
Gibson got help from Mountain Drop Mitchell who earned his 2nd save.
Columbus Vance(2-2) was charged with the loss in relief.
'This was a tough loss,' said John O'Neal, 'the kind that sticks with you for
awhile.'
