Eppa Rixey completed the game without help from the bullpen and first baseman
Milton Lewis blasted a homerun and had 3 RBI as the Towanda Black Knights
defeated the Colorado 14ers by the score of 6 to 1 at Muehlebach
Field.
Towanda came up with 5 runs in the 6th inning with the help of 4 hits. The
critical plate appearance was by Lewis who came through for the home fans
when he lifted one out of the park for a two run home run. Towanda had 10
hits for the afternoon.
Rixey(6-11) finished the game allowing 1 run in the victory. Dutch
Ruether(6-13) was the loser. Towanda now has a record of 47-72. With this
loss, Colorado has a 6-4 record of late, 71-55 overall.
