WEB GEMS- Bot 2nd: Ellis Valentine robbed Jim Essian of a Homerun!

At Bright Health Park, the Colorado fans witnessed a great pitcher's duel.
Steve Rogers(16-6) finally bested his Sterling opposite, Vida Blue(7-12), by
the score of 2 to 1.

Colorado scored 2 runs in the bottom of the 6th inning. The biggest moment
was provided by Ken Griffey who electrified Bright Health Park when he laced
a base-knock scoring two baserunners. The teams had been locked in a
scoreless duel until the 6th inning.

Bruce Sutter was credited with his 30th save. Blue was charged with the loss.
He allowed just 2 runs and 4 hits in 6 innings.

'We really needed this win' said David Kufkafka. 'That first drink of water
at the end of a drought sure does taste good!'
