Center fielder Dwight Evans homered and had 2 RBI at RI Field (The Bowl) where
the Seattle Pilots beat the Bristol Blasters by the score of 8 to 1.
The game started off with Seattle taking the lead in the first plating an
isolated run. After an out was recorded, Dave Rader tripled. Reggie Jackson
followed next and he drew a walk. Norm Cash then would hit into a force play
scoring the run. Mike Marshall earned the save with a perfect ninth, his
18th save.
Steve Stone(3-2) went 6 and 2/3 innings allowing 1 run for the victory. Fergie
Jenkins(13-8) was the losing pitcher. He pitched 7 innings allowing 7 hits
and 2 walks.
