Royce Clayton had 2 base hits as the Savannah Rumrunners defeated the
Minnesota Loons by the score of 5 to 0 at Dodger Stadium.
Minnesota never recovered after Savannah took the lead in the 7th inning
scoring a single run utilizing 2 base hits. John Olerud drew a walk. Brent
Mayne followed and he ripped a one-base hit. Clayton then singled scoring
the run. Savannah rapped out 9 hits for the night.
Hideo Nomo(9-11) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 8 innings. Steve
Trachsel(4-8) suffered the loss. He allowed 1 run and 7 hits in 6 and 1/3
innings.
