Shortstop Edgar Renteria blasted a homerun as the Denver Dingers bested the
Sterling Silver Sluggers in 10 innings 4 to 3 at Qualcomm Stadium.

The game was deadlocked at 3 after nine full innings.  Denver was victorious
in the 10th inning.  After an out was recorded, Andruw Jones drew a walk.
Brian S. Giles came next and he singled.  Giles took second on the throw.
Mark McGwire then was walked intentionally to load the bases.  One out later,
Kevin Orie stepped up to the plate and he delivered a base-hit giving Denver
the victory and sending the 40,527 home-town fans home happy.  Denver
finished with 9 hits in the victory.  

The win was credited to Marc Wilkins(4-1) who went 1 inning allowing no runs.
Mike Timlin(5-6) was the losing pitcher in relief.
