First baseman Earl Torgeson cracked 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI and Bob Rush
tossed a complete game at Silver Slapper Park as the Hibbing Dylans beat the
Sterling Silver Sluggers 9 to 4.
Torgeson had a big evening at the plate. He bombed a two-run dinger in the 1st
inning, lofted a solo-blast 'downtown' in the 3rd inning and banged out a
single scoring a run in the 6th inning. Hibbing banged out 15 hits on the
night.
Rush(4-5) picked up the complete game victory, allowing 4 runs. Warren
Spahn(8-14) was the losing pitcher. He got hammered, allowing 11 hits and 3
walks in 5 and 2/3 innings.
