Chuck Kress had 2 base hits as the Pittsburgh Bichipoos defeated the
Cincinnati Royalty in 10 innings by the score of 2 to 1 at The Couch.

Both teams were tied at 1 runs apiece after nine innings.  Finally, Pittsburgh
pulled the game out in the 10th inning.  After an out was recorded, Cliff
Mapes banged out a single.  Kress followed and he doubled.  After another
out, Ray Noble then ripped a one-base hit giving Pittsburgh the victory as
42,431 happy fans celebrated wildly.  Pittsburgh banged out 9 hits on the
afternoon.  

Al Benton(8-9) went 2/3 of an inning allowing no runs for the victory. Melvin
Duncan(5-9) took the loss in relief.  He pitched 1 and 1/3 innings and
surrendered 2 hits and no walks.
