In a thrilling finish the Colorado 14ers won in dramatic fashion coming back
to beat the Pinch Quicks by the count of 5 to 4.
Colorado came up with the deciding runs in the bottom of the 9th inning
scoring 2 runs using 4 hits. Hoot Evers led off and started the attack as he
laced a base-knock. Les Moss followed and he hit a single. Billy Goodman
then ripped a single scoring a one-base hit run. Jerry Priddy struck out,
unable to help the rally. One out later, Charlie Silvera came up and he
slapped a single resulting in a mighty exciting win for Colorado and the
36,079 home town fans in attendance. For the game Colorado out-hit Pinch 12
to 6.
Dave Koslo(5-7) was the winner allowing no runs in 1/3 of an inning. Roberto
Vargas(2-3) was the loser in relief. Colorado now has a record of 39-39.
Pinch has a record of 55-42 after the loss.
