Nolan Ryan tossed a fine 2 hitter at Double Wide Park where the Las Vegas
Stars beat the Zygton Zabras 2 to 1.
Las Vegas tallied 2 runs in the top of the 6th inning when they came up with 3
base hits. The biggest moment was provided by Ken Singleton who quieted the
home crowd when he doubled bringing home two baserunners. The Zygton bats
were silent in the bottom of the 9th.
The win went to Ryan(7-10) who allowed 1 run in the game. Dick Tidrow(9-11)
was the losing pitcher. He pitched 7 innings and surrendered 6 hits and no
walks.
Ryan, when asked about his 10 strikeout performance noted, 'The important
thing is that we won, if I get 20 and we lose, what good does it do our team?
But, on the other hand, since we won it feels great!'
