TEAM RISP- Bumblers: 5 for 12 Feat: 5 for 14
WEB GEMS- Top 8th: Doc Farrell robbed Hack Wilson of a base hit.
Hack Wilson launched 2 homeruns and had 5 RBI as the Mid-World Bumblers
defeated the The Little Feat by a score of 9 to 8 at Lowell George
Park.
Wilson was unconscious out there. While The Little pitching was serving
softballs up there for him to hit, the The Little fans were serving up some
hardball barbs when he entered the batter's box. But he just used it as fuel
for the fire. He lined a one-base hit in the 1st inning, clubbed a three-run
home run in the 3rd inning and cleared the fences for a two-run home run in
the 4th inning. The Little tried unsuccessfully to come back in the 9th.
The victory was credited to Joe Shaute(9-6) who went 7 innings, allowing 7
runs. Mike Cvengros earned the save, his 2nd. Rats Henderson(4-12) was the
loser. He was unable to control the Mid-World offense and allowed 9 hits and
2 walks in 4 innings.
'Just one or two mistakes were all it took to beat us today' John Demijistre
said. 'We take these games one day at a time, but this one was hard to
take.'
