Edd Roush had 3 base hits and scored 3 times as the Michigan Timbers bested
the Towanda Black Knights 5 to 2 at Muehlebach Field.
Towanda was unable to recover after Michigan went ahead in the top of the 7th
inning scoring a single run on 4 base hits. After an out was recorded, Newt
Allen stroked a single. One out later, Hooks Johnson stepped up to the plate
and he lashed a single. Bill Barrett then smacked a one-base hit scoring the
run. Michigan ended up with 15 hits for the game while Towanda had 9.
Wilcy Moore(8-1) went 3 and 2/3 innings allowing no runs for the victory. Ray
Kremer(5-8) was charged with the loss. He allowed 13 hits and 2 walks in 7
innings.
