Dom Dimaggio had 2 base hits and 2 RBI and Slats Newkirk allowed Craig White
to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete game at Silver Slapper Park as the
Iowa MoonlightGraham beat the Sterling Silver Sluggers 6 to 1.

Iowa jumped on top of Sterling in the 2nd inning with 2 runs utilizing 4 base
hits.  Johnny Washington led off and started the attack as he smacked a
single.  After an out was recorded, Jim Gilliam stepped up to the plate and
he lifted one out of the park for a two run home run.  That early scoring
held up.  Iowa rapped out 10 hits for the afternoon.  

The win went to Newkirk(6-7) who allowed 1 run in the game. Fred
Hutchinson(5-8) was the loser.  He pitched 8 innings and surrendered 9 hits
and 1 walk.
