47,997 fans were treated to a fine game at The TARDIS as only one run
separated the combatants at game's end. The Gallifrey Time Lords won by the
slimmest of margins, 3 to 2.
The game was deadlocked at 2 after nine full innings. Finally, Gallifrey
pulled the game out in the 11th inning. After an out was recorded, Ira
Flagstead delivered a base-hit. One out later, Harry Heilmann came to the
plate and doubled giving Gallifrey the victory and sending the 47,997
home-town fans home happy. Gallifrey had 10 hits for the afternoon.
The win was credited to Cherry Bell(1-0) who went 1 inning allowing no runs.
Dick Redding(2-2) absorbed the loss in relief. Gallifrey now has a record of
50-46. With the loss, the Mid-World ballclub's record is 41-41.
