Left fielder Ron Fairly hit a homerun and had 3 RBI at Wriggly Field as the
The Little Feat lost a heartbreaker to Seattle Pilots by the score of 6 to
5.

Seattle won the game with a run in the 9th inning.  Ed Brinkman was hit by a
pitch.  Tony Perez was next and he drew a walk.  Rick Burleson then laid down
a sacrifice bunt.  Fairly followed next and he stroked a one-base hit making
Seattle the victor and beginning a joyous home town celebration.  The score
went back-and-forth with the lead changing 5 times.  

Mike Marshall(9-6) was the winner allowing 1 run in 2 innings. Bob
Reynolds(1-1) absorbed the loss in relief.  He gave up 1 run and 1 hit in 1
and 1/3 innings.
