The Minnesota Loons and the Pittsburgh Bichipoos locked up in an exciting
one-run game at The Couch. The final score was the Minnesota Loons 3, the
Pittsburgh Bichipoos 2.
Minnesota took the lead for good in the top of the 7th inning plating an
isolated run. Johnny Lipon stroked a base-hit. Del Rice next to the plate
and he reached on an error. After an out was recorded, Red Schoendienst then
drew a walk to load the bases. Norman Robinson followed next and he drew a
walk scoring the run. Joe Dobson(4-7) got relief help from Rafael Navaretta
who was excellent in relief and gained credit for his 2nd save.
Fred Martin(3-4) was tagged with the loss in relief. Wth the win Minnesota
now has a record of 39-52. With the loss, Pittsburgh has a record of 5-5
lately, 51-48 overall.
