The hometown crowd was rewarded with a dramatic ending, as the Pittsburgh
Bichipoos staged a comeback win over the Sterling Silver Sluggers by the
count of 10 to 9.

Pittsburgh came through with the game-winning runs in the bottom of the 9th
inning plating 2 runs on 3 hits. Joe Morgan led off and started the attack
as he stroked a single, and an error was also committed. Andre Thornton was
a strikeout victim, unable to help out. After another out, Ellie Rodriguez
then lashed a single resulting in a run. Roger Metzger followed next and he
doubled giving Pittsburgh the win much to the delight of the home town crowd.
A wild affair, this game saw the lead change 5 times.

The win went to Joe Hoerner(2-0) who allowed no runs in 1 inning. The losing
pitcher was Rollie Fingers(5-3) in relief. Jim Frolick was all smiles after
the ballgame, 'It sure was looking pretty dim there for a while, but our guys
never gave up - and neither did our fans - they kept cheering us on. What a
sweet win!'
