Bob Lemon took a no-hitter into the 9th inning at Silver Slapper Park where
the St Paul Saints beat the Sterling Silver Sluggers 4 to 2.
Lemon(10-7) pitched one of his finer games as he simply was too much for the
Sterling batters. He was stingy on the mound, allowing just 1 hit and 4
walks in 9 innings. The right-handed Lemon lost his chance for a no-hitter
when Bob Kennedy tripled with two outs in the 9th inning. St Paul had only 6
hits for the afternoon.
Gready McKinnis(3-12) absorbed the loss. He surrendered 4 hits and 3 walks in
7 innings.
