Bob Meusel had 4 hits and 2 RBI as the Towanda Black Knights beat the
Gallifrey Time Lords by a score of 6 to 2.
Meusel had a big day at the plate. He hit a single in the 1st inning, bombed
a two-run dinger in the 2nd inning, doubled in the 6th inning and doubled in
the 8th inning. Gallifrey threatened in the 9th but Towanda was able to put
down the rally.
Flint Rhem(6-6) was the winner allowing 1 run in 7 and 2/3 innings. Rhem got
help from Ernie Nevers who was credited with his 1st save. Charlie
Root(10-7) took the loss.
'Fundamentals, fundamentals, fundamentals' said Lee Wilbur after the game.
'We lost this game today because we didn't follow the instructions every
Little Leaguer hears every day.'
