Eddie Stanky had 2 base hits and Bill Wight had a complete game as the Tenth
Avenue Freezeouts topped the Colorado 14ers by a score of 2 to 1 at The
Carousel.
Tenth Avenue wasted no time and took the lead in the first inning plating an
isolated run on 2 base hits. Stanky doubled. After an out was recorded,
Hank Majeski stepped up to the plate and he doubled scoring the run.
Colorado had a chance in the 9th but they came up short.
The victory was credited to Wight(6-7) who went the distance, allowing 1 run.
Bill Werle(2-1) was the loser. He pitched 6 innings and surrendered just 3
hits and 1 walk.
'This was a tough loss,' said David Kufkafka, 'the kind that sticks with you
for awhile.'
