Cincinatti scored 5 runs in the top of the 4th inning with the help of 4 hits.
The key at-bat was by Larry Brown who deflated the mood of the partisan fans
when he doubled which was good for two runs.  Cincinatti had a total of 14
hits for the game.  

Tal Strong(9-3) got credit for the victory, pitching 7 and 2/3 innings and
allowing 8 runs. Strong got help from Herb Bradley who earned his 3rd save.
George Pipgras(4-4) was the loser.  He was hit hard and gave up 6 hits and 3
walks in 3 and 2/3 innings.
