The Galifrey Time Lords came roaring back in the top of the ninth to spoil the
anticipated celebration of the hometown fans. The final score,, was 5 to
4.

Galifrey scored the winning runs in the top of the 9th inning plating 3 runs
on 2 hits. Ruben Amaro led off the inning for Galifrey when he was hit by a
pitch. Jackie Brandt stepped up next and he doubled. Andre Rodgers then
would ground out which plated a run. Ken Boyer was a strikeout victim,
unable to help out. Rocky Colavito came to the plate and was walked
intentionally. Willie Tasby extended the rally and doubled as two more
runners crossed the plate. Galifrey managed 8 hits in their victory.

Art Mahaffey(9-3) went 8 innings allowing 4 runs for the win. Art Fowler was
credited with his 21st save. Phil Regan(3-3) was given the loss in relief.

After the game, it took a long while before The Little's manager emerged from
his office. In a subdued tone he answered only a couple of questions. He
concluded with, 'Fellows, sorry I'm not in a very talkative mood tonight, as
I think you'll understand. I'm sure you'll find the banter a lot more
light-hearted over in the Galifrey locker room.'
