In a close game it was the Bristol Blasters 7, the Cincinnati Royalty 5 at The
Palace.

Bristol tallied 5 runs in the 7th inning when they had 3 base hits. The
critical plate appearance was by Mel Parnell who silenced the crowd when he
slapped a one-base hit scoring two baserunners.  Cincinnati threatened in the
9th but their rally came up short.  

Parnell(8-8) went 8 and 1/3 innings allowing 5 runs for the victory. Parnell
got relief help from Joe Page who gained credit for his 15th save.  Vic
Raschi(6-9) was the losing pitcher.  He pitched 6 and 2/3 innings allowing 8
hits and 6 walks.
