WEB GEMS- Top 1st: Bill Terry robbed Zack Wheat of a base hit.

Bill Terry had 2 base hits at The Wastelands where the Mid-World Bumblers beat
the Sterling Silver Sluggers 8 to 3.

Sterling fell behind quickly as the Mid-World offense came through in the
first inning when they tallied 3 runs on 4 hits. The biggest moment was
provided by Hack Wilson who brought a roar from the partisan The Wastelands
fans when he cleared the fences for a two-run home run. Dick Redding
relieved and was untouched by Sterling as he recorded the save, his 5th.

Willie Powell(5-4) went 7 and 1/3 innings allowing 3 runs for the victory.
Phil Cockrell(8-4) was given the loss. Mid-World now has a record of 34-29.
Sterling will hope that this loss is only a 'blip' on their recent 8-2 run -
and not a start of a new trend.
