Ray Neil touched them all and had 2 RBI as the Sterling Silver Sluggers beat
the Denver Dingers by a score of 5 to 3.
Sterling took the lead for keeps in the 3rd inning plating an isolated run on
2 base hits. Denver had a chance to come back in the 9th but they came up
short.
Billy Powell(8-7) got the win allowing 3 runs in 8 and 1/3 innings. Powell got
help from Ted Alexander who earned his 4th save. Johnny Sain(4-5) was tagged
with the loss.
'Some losses are harder to take than others' Wayne Stanko lamented after the
game. 'This was one of them.'
