WEB GEMS- Top 5th: Reggie Jackson robbed Don Money of an extra base hit.
At Wriggly Field the blistering-hot Cincinnati Royalty outscored the Seattle
Pilots 7 to 4.
Cincinnati had 3 runs cross the plate in the top of the 4th inning with the
help of 3 hits. The crucial at-bat was provided by Tom Heintzelman who
deflated the spirits of the home town crowd when he doubled which was good
for two runs. Cincinnati won despite being out-hit by Seattle 16 hits to 11.
The win went to Pat Dobson(2-4) who allowed 2 runs in 5 innings. Paul
Splittorff(6-5) was charged with the loss. He was knocked around,
surrendering 4 runs in 3 and 1/3 innings.
Cincinnati continued on their recent roll, their winning streak now reaching 9
games and counting.
