Richie Hebner homered and had 2 RBI at Yanker Stadium where the Sterling
Silver Sluggers beat the Galifrey Time Lords by the score of 9 to
6.

Sterling went ahead for good in the bottom of the 4th inning when they scored
3 runs on 4 hits. The key offensive moment was provided by Johnny Bench who
thrilled the crowd when he laced a base-knock bringing home two baserunners.
Galifrey had a chance in the 9th but they came up short.

The win went to Fritz Peterson(4-2) who allowed 6 runs in 8 and 2/3 innings.
Peterson got help from Rollie Fingers who earned his 5th save. Reggie
Cleveland(1-7) suffered the loss. He was touched for 10 hits and 2 walks in
3 and 1/3 innings.

'Just one or two mistakes were all it took to beat us today' Galifrey's
manager said. 'We take these games one day at a time, but this one was hard
to take.'
