Darryl Hamilton had 2 base hits and 3 RBI at Olympic Stadium as the Pinch
Quicks beat the Cincinnati Royalty 7 to 5.
Pinch drew first blood jumping out to an early lead in the first inning as
they scored 3 runs on 2 base hits. The critical plate appearance was by Pete
Incaviglia who brought a roar from the partisan Olympic Stadium fans when he
doubled bringing home two baserunners. Cincinnati tried unsuccessfully to
come back in the 9th.
Nerio Rodriguez(1-1) got credit for the victory, pitching 5 innings and
allowing 1 run. Rodriguez was helped out by Billy Wagner who recorded his
16th save. Tony Saunders(1-1) was the losing pitcher. He surrendered just 2
hits and no walks in 4 innings.
