With the crowd on their collective feet, screaming at the top of their lungs,
Minnesota Loons rallied to top Colorado 14ers by the score of 7 to
6.
Minnesota erupted with the game winning runs in the 9th inning scoring 2 runs.
After an out was recorded, Lyman Bostock initiated the scoring spurt when he
drew a walk. Bob Harvey next to the plate and he lifted one out of the park
for a two run home run resulting in an exciting win for Minnesota and a
raucous post-game celebration by the home town fans. Minnesota finished with
10 hits while Colorado ended up with 5.
The victory was credited to Johnny Antonelli(3-3) who went 1 inning, allowing
no runs. The losing pitcher was Gerry Staley(5-5) in relief.
Chris Kaufman was in great spirits in his post-game interview. Yet, when
asked about his feelings after the thrilling comeback victory, he
volunteered, 'I'll tell you this much - I know how my counterpart, David
Kufkafka, feels right now - and it's not very good. It's terrible when you
come up on the short end of one of these!'
