Tris Speaker had 2 base hits as the Cincinatti Royalty bested the Hibbing
Dylans 2 to 1 at The Palace.
Cincinatti wasted no time and took the lead in the first inning with 2 runs
utilizing 3 base hits. After an out was recorded, Speaker started the rally
when he doubled. Pie Traynor followed next and he ripped a base-hit which
scored a run. Traynor took second on the throw. One out later, Jimmie
Wilson then ripped a one-base hit scoring the final run of the inning. That
early run support was all that Vic Aldridge(8-4) required. Cincinatti had
only 6 hits for the afternoon.
Aldridge got help from William Bell who was credited with his 8th save. The
losing pitcher was Nip Winters(3-6). He gave up 2 runs and 6 hits in 8
innings.
