Queen Qiller Bees won a dramatic crowd-pleaser over Sterling Silver Sluggers
at County Stadium pulling it out in their last at bats, 1 to 0.

The game was decided in the bottom of the 9th inning.  Don Hoak ripped a
one-base hit.  Marty Keough next to the plate and he grounded into a double
play.  Joe Koppe then ripped a base-hit.  Hobie Landrith followed and he
reached on an error.  Al Spangler came to the plate and drew a walk to load
the bases.  Wally Moon did his part to keep things going and delivered a
base-hit resulting in an exciting win for Queen and a wild post-game
celebration by the home town fans.  For the game Queen out-hit Sterling 10 to
5.  

The winning pitcher was Jack Curtis(2-0) who allowed no runs in 1 inning. The
losing pitcher was Jim Brosnan(4-3) in relief.  He was pinned with the loss
despite not allowing an earned run in his 1 and 2/3 innings of work.
