Babe Ruth blasted a homerun and had 4 RBI as the Colorado 14ers were badly
beaten by the Savannah Rumrunners, 15 to 2.
Ruth enjoyed a big day at the plate. He smacked a three-run homer in the 4th
inning and doubled in the 9th inning. Savannah kept the scorekeepers busy in
the 3rd inning which saw them plate 4 runs on 3 hits and the 8th inning when
they had 5 runs on 5 hits. Colorado was out-hit by Savannah, 17 hits to 5.
The victory was credited to Ted Trent(2-5) who went 6 and 1/3 innings,
allowing 2 runs. Sarge Connally(1-3) ended up with the loss. His ERA
increased from 4.31 to 6.29 as he allowed 15 runs in 9 innings.
