Center fielder Elliott Maddox had 2 base hits at Candelstick Park as the
Minnesota Loons beat the Seattle Pilots by the count of 6 to 3.

In the bottom of the 6th inning Minnesota scored 4 runs when they came up with
3 base hits.  The crucial at-bat was provided by Tommy McCraw who made the
crowd come alive when he belted a three-run homer.  Minnesota had 12 hits
overall, while Seattle had 9.  

Bart Johnson(4-2) got credit for the victory, pitching 7 innings and allowing
3 runs. Mike Garman gained credit for his 4th save.  Paul Splittorff(4-4)
suffered the loss.  He gave up 8 hits and 1 walk in 6 innings.
